so the search/process for graduating from my PhD program and moving on to the post-doctoral fellowship continued today. i got an email from a professor in maryland that i did a phone interview with. we have selected a weekend for me to come and visit the lab and give a talk about what i do. [...]

today during an incubation, i looked out my lab’s window on the 9th floor of our new building.
i could see the first year students having lunch in the courtyard across the street. the program feeds them for the first week as a welcome to grad school thing.

i generally eat pretty healthy. i avoid fried foods (which, in the south, has to be an olympic sport like the hurdles), i haven’t had caffine in 2 months, i don’t drink a lot of carbination, and generally i don’t eat fast food because its greasy and doesn’t taste good and i am cheap.
